The functions of State Water & Sanitation Mission are :
1. Provide policy guidance on Swajaldhara Projects
2. Periodic review of implementation of the MOU signed with the Department of Drinking Water Supply.
3. Consideration and approval of all schemes pertaining to water supply and sanitation sector programmes funded wholly or partially by the GOI or the External Funding Agencies (including ARWSP, Sub -Mission and TSC).
4. Convergence of water supply and sanitation activities including special projects.
5. Co-ordination with various State Government Department and other partners in relevant activities.
6. Monitoring and evaluation of physical and financial performance and management of the water supply and sanitation projects.
7. Arranging independent certification of the quality of construction of Swajaldhara projects.
8. Integrating and cooperating communication and capacity development progress for both water supply and sanitation.
9. Registrationn of SWSM as a Society under H.P. societies Registration Act 2006 has been vide NO 33/2007.
